"Helping Kids Cope: Handling Bullies"

"Helping Kids Cope: Handling Grief"

Thursday, March 18 at 6:30-8:00 p.m.

"Helping Kids Cope" is a series of workshops designed to help parents better understand their children and to provide strategies parents can use to support their children during difficult and challenging experiences. Parents may choose to attend one, two or all three workshops. Cost is $25 per person per session or couples may attend for $40 per session. Advance registration and payment are required. Register by Monday, March 1 for Handling Bullies and by Monday, March 15 for Handling Grief. Workshops will be held at Mathias Counseling and Consulting, 11650 Lantern Road, Fishers, in the Main Conference Room of Fishers Office Suites. "Helping Kids Cope: Handling Bullies" - Cancelled due to lack of enrollment
Bullying is a growing trend --- at school and on the internet. Parents need to learn about different types of bullying, how to recognize that their child might be a victim or a bully, and what they can do about this challenging problem. Resources, websites, and booklists are also provided. Take away practical strategies you can use to help your child deal with bullying and become more self-confident! "Helping Kids Cope: Handling Grief"
Parents want to help their children deal with grief when a loss occurs, but often they don't know what to do. This program helps parents gain a basic understanding of grief and loss, learn how children and teens exhibit grief, and learn how they can help their sons and daughters cope with the grief and loss in their lives. Resources, websites, and booklists are also provided. Take away practical strategies you can use to help your child deal with this important issue. Active Parenting Now in 3

"Active Parenting Now in 3,"
for parents of children ages 5-12, helps you learn to use positive communication, nonviolent discipline, effective encouragement, and logical consequences to raise responsible and cooperative children. Cost is $95 for the series, plus $15 for the book. A spouse or significant other can join for just $40.

Active Parenting of Teens

In "Active Parenting of Teens," you will learn about communicating with your teen effectively (with or without their help), building your teen's responsibility, inner strength, and courage, disciplining your teen, solving problems together, and talking with your teen about alcohol, drugs, sexuality, and other teen issues. The series is usually taught as three 2-hour classes.
