Carlabeth Mathias is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Mental Health Counselor. She earned her B.A. in Elementary Education and French from DePauw University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude. She received her M.S. in Counseling and Guidance from Indiana University, Bloomington. She is a member of the Indiana Counseling Association, the Indiana School Counselor Association, and the Indiana School Social Work Association.

Carlabeth has worked with children, parents, and educators for more than 30 years as a teacher and elementary school counselor. She understands children and adolescents and has helped them cope with many of the typical developmental and situational challenges they encounter as they grow. She also knows the limitations and pressures that school personnel work under when they are faced with a challenged child. When called for, Carlabeth collaborates with talented specialists to provide you and your child with the best counseling and consulting services available.

She also has extensive experience working with students who have emotional and behavioral challenges, mood disorders, ADHD/ADD, autism spectrum disorder and grief issues. Carlabeth believes strongly in the value and effectiveness of helping children, teens, and adults understand the situations they find themselves in and learning strategies to meet their challenges.

Carlabeth has also trained teachers, counselors, and parents throughout the years through workshops and parenting classes. She has presented seminars at state and national counseling conferences. A bully prevention specialist, Carlabeth also helps train teachers, counselors, and administrators using an evidence-based program designed to reduce bullying in elementary, middle and junior high schools.

Carlabeth and her husband are the parents of two sons, one in college and one who is a high school teacher.
